Pending Charge

When you create a Taxify account, update your payment method, or request a ride, you may see a pending transaction on your payment method. This isn't an extra charge, but a temporary authorization we use to verify your payment method.

When a payment method on your Taxify account is newly added or unused for several weeks, Taxify will verify it by issuing a temporary authorization hold.

Authorization holds are small amounts of money that are never actually charged to your account. However, you may notice one of these amounts listed on your account as pending.

At the start of a trip, Taxify may place a temporary authorization hold for the estimated price of the trip on your payment method. This will show up as a pending charge on your account's payment method. When the trip completes, this authorization hold is converted to a charge for the final trip fare. 

If the trip has been cancelled or the total price is different than the estimated price in your app, the original authorization hold should be voided from your payment method within a few business days but depending on your bank policy. If you would like to confirm a specific item on your statement, please contact your bank directly. 

Third-party fees

Your credit or bank card issuer may apply a currency conversion rate or fees to your payment if you are taking a ride in a country with a currency different from the designated currency of your payment method.

Please contact your provider to learn more about what fees may apply. Taxify is not responsible for these fees. 

Cross-border fees

If extra fees appear on your bank statement or the amount charged differs from what appeared on the Taxify invoice, please contact your credit or bank card issuer.

If your bank considers Taxify's processing entity as international, you may be charged cross-border fees by your bank even if the charge was processed in the original currency of your payment method. If the fees were added by your card-issuing bank, Taxify can't refund them.
