As per City of Toronto rideshare regulations, Driver must serve any and all persons with service animals. A service animal is not a pet. It is against the law to:
- Refuse to serve the Passenger
- Refuse to permit the Passenger and the service animal to enter the licensed vehicle
- Refuse to permit the Passenger and service animal to remain in the vehicle.
Allowing or disallowing Passengers with pets (non-service animals) is at the discretion of Driver as the owner of the vehicle. If Driver feels comfortable allowing a pet in the vehicle they are more than welcome to but if Driver does not want to they are not expected to do so.
Tip: Keep a blanket in the trunk and place it on the seat before a service animal enters the vehicle.
