In Ireland, the taxi fare is set by the National Transport Authority (NTA) and calculated by the Taxi Meter in the vehicle. Bolt uses the NTA's fare structure to guide its estimations but does not dictate the final price. You can learn more about the fare structure on the Transport for Ireland website
To check whether the final fare falls within the expected range, please see Transport for Ireland’s Fare Estimator.
If you find the fare falls out of the estimated range, please confirm the fare with the driver at the end of your trip.
Please note that if you had a negative Bolt Balance due to a previous failed payment, you were charged for it together with the trip price. This means the trip price was not higher, but the amount of the failed payment was added to it. If Bolt Balance debt was added to your trip price, you can view it in the Payments section by clicking See transactions.
If you believe there has been a mistake with the price or you were unable to resolve the fare with the driver, please contact our Support team via the app.
You may also inform the NTA if you have any concerns with the accuracy of the final fare.
